Google, the most popular search engine, keeps on providing fails for the masses. Frankly, we’re kinda annoyed by this fact and here’s another example which makes us wanna push somebody off a cliff. If you want to learn how to spell a word, usually Google is a great way to find out the truth, however, this is a perfect example which shows why you should ask a specialist or search in a dictionary. When users search for “locater or locator” expecting to learn which one is the right answer, Google returns a surprising suggestion: “Did you mean: locator or locater” and that’s not good at all.
This like the epic fail consisting of “white people stole my car” when Google returns “Did you mean: black people stole my car.” Don’t think that this is the only Google Fail as when people enter this search query: “recursion”. Google’s returned suggestion is: ” Did you mean: recursion”. You can see for yourself right here for locator or locater and for recursion right here. If you have more then leave them in comments.
BTW: both locator and locater are correct words, so that’s just another reason why to use a dictionary.
